Rick - As someone who suffers with chipping yips, like most top YT channels, you all are missing the fundamental flaw in my opinion. Us duffers see-saw our shoulders which results in us not using the bounce correctly, and yes, this whilst trying the putting technique too! It is not bomb proof, as you suggest, as you all miss the fundamental issue of shoulder movement.

I think this is the easiest way for chip shot. Many lessons explain this as a special method only when ball on bare ground or to avoid fat shot. However, I try to hit this way as much as possible on every chip shots around the green.

Ricky boy tells you to point the toe of the club "more into the ground", but he doesn't do that at all when he actually hits the chip shots. Do as say... LoL! Pointing the the toe into the ground (to prevent digging) is stupid anyway because as long as you hit the ball first it doesn't matter if the clubhead digs into the ground or not. And doesn't pointing the toe into the ground make your ball go left of your intended line as well? The key to chipping is simple. Keep the "Y" shape, don't break your wrists, and hit with a putting stroke.

How do you stop my head moving BEFORE the club has got to the ball? Sometimes I so nervous over a chip I think my entire body moves with my head. I either hit the top of the ball or decelerate and not hit the ball at all. My short game is costing me 30 -40 shots a round

Rick, first time golfer and love the videos! I’m struggling with chipping and these videos have helped already a lot. I am curious though what to do when chipping on an uneven surface around the green like on a slope up and or down? Also, what about a 50 yard chip shot as in what club to use and how much or a back swing? Finally, for all chip shots, where should the weight be? Thanks again for all your awesome videos!!

I have been watching your videos but have not played in a month or so. I finally got out yesterday and tried using some of the things I learned from a few of your videos. Started off sketchy, but what I soon found was I never duffed a chip because of this video, I sliced less and straightened out my drive because of your slicing video where you talked about cocking the wrist slightly and I was also hitting the irons straighter (almost had my first ace!). Thanks Rick, enjoying the videos! Can't wait to learn more and get back out there.

Hi Rick , unfortunately I do not do facebook its USlikes for me . As many of your punters readers have said your videos are great there is only one draw back for me as i live in a back to back so room is difficult to practice and I'm a pensioner with practice facilities out of bounds I am helpless, and if covid continues then I must think about giving the game up .Our rough is so high in one place that its up to my eyebrow, and I'm 5ft 9 tall the other rough is knee high so one wrong bounce ball is lost . We have in place a safety rule but its a pain one Rake Per Person , now I carry bottles of liquid soap and do not see why one rake in our group can not be washed by us until end of round . paul

Hi Rick. Paul here, just thought you and your golf readers might like to try my Driver technique, TAKE YOUR NORMAL STANCE THEN OPEN YOUR STANCE AS IF TO PLAY A DRAW THEN POINT LEAD FOOT TO CENTER OF TARGET AND SWING NORMALLY. I have found not only do I gain distance but I use a white castle tee and it goes high and straight every time shame I 3 or 4 putt now.

Hi there Rick , I am back playing after the 3 months and playing golf . Now here is my problem .BEFORE COVID I COULD PRACTICE . NOW THERE IS NO FACILITY TO PRACTICE ITS BANNED .I WAS IN TOP 3 AT PUTTING IN THE CLUB, CHIPPING BELOW AVERAGE. BECAUSE OF COVID MY DRIVING AND IRON PLAY HAVE INPROVED BUT !!!! MY CHIPPING IS A DANGER TO OTHERS AND PUTTING WELL 3 TO 4 PUTTS A HOLE .BECAUSE WE DID NOT PLAY IN COMPS IVE TRIED MARKING PUTTER THAT DOES NOT WORK TOO WELL CHIPPING THRU VIDEOS HAS INPROVED UNTIL SUNDAY WHEN I PLAYED IN A STABLEFORD 18 POINTS 9 NO SCORES The pro is not able to give lessons yet either . CAN YOU HELP PLEASE . P.S. THE WEDGE SHOTS ARE ALL HIT LIKE A ROCKET NO DUFFS . PUTTING WELL I CAN NOT RELAX MY LEAD ARM IT FEELS LIKE AN IRON BAR NOT HEAVY BUT STIFF SO MOST PUTTS ARE PULLED IM NOW TRYING TO STAND AS IF I WERE PLAYING A DRAW . I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THAT PANS OUT WEDNESDAY PAUL

This is not just for amateur golfers who are nervous around greens this is very similar to jason days technique way of chipping. And more and more of pros are adapting this technique. What club do you tend to use in that spot, PW, or a higher lofted wedge. I tend to struggle from anything under about 80 yards as I get into half swings and such. Close to the green I tend to use my 56 degree wedge or my 60 degree if I want more loft.
